Pastor Dan Cloyd
Lead Pastor
Growing up in a small town in Western Kansas, sports and church were the main influences in our community. I’m thankful for both as they taught me the value of teamwork and the incredible love that God has for each of us. At age 19 I came to the realization that God had a plan and purposes for my life - I didn’t fully understand all that it meant but I sensed that God was calling me into some kind of ministry as a pastor, teacher, and coach.
Looking back over the last 30+ years it’s been an adventure serving the Lord! It seems that I’ve come almost full circle as my first ministry experiences were just down the street as a teacher and coach at LMH and Mellinger was my home church. It’s a privilege and honor to return here to this great church family and serve as one of the pastors.
God has blessed me with a wonderful family. Corene has faithfully served alongside me in all our ministry opportunities and we have been blessed to have a gifted son, beautiful daughter in love, and the sweetest grandson you could ever ask for! “Doing Life Together” is a summary of how I view ministry based on the early church in Acts 2 and I enjoy coming along side of people and encouraging them in their walk with the Lord.

Roger Weaver
Lead Pastor
Roger serves on the preaching team for the Mellinger congregation. He works full time as a masonry estimator. He has served on several short term mission teams through Eastern Mennonite Mission and completed the STEP program offered by Lancaster Mennonite Conference. He enjoys outdoor activities, volleyball, drama (acting and writing). Roger desires to make the Bible come alive; demonstrating it to be relevant for all generations.

Christian Peifer
Minister of Youth & Young Adults
Christian oversees our youth and young adult ministries at Mellinger. He also works part time at Peifer Welding. He served as a full time Missionary in St. Croix, USVI for four years through Youth With a Mission. He enjoys running, hiking, volleyball and playing drums and guitar. Christian is passionate about disciplining the next generation of leaders and walking with youth and young adults as they grow in their love for Jesus and hunger for the Word of God.

Mackenzie Campbell Minister of Worship
Mackenzie serves as the Worship leader at Mellinger Mennonite. She graduated from Messiah University in 2021 with a degree in Music and Worship and feels honored to be a part of the Mellinger congregation. Mackenzie enjoys many things such as songwriting, running, and spending time with family and friends. Above all, Mackenzie aims to honor and glorify God through word and deed and to remember this life is not our own, may we live it for Him.

Danielle H. Peifer Minister of Children & Families
Danielle most recently taught and directed theater for Lancaster Mennonite High School and previously taught English at schools in Delaware and Harrisonburg, Virginia where she grew up. She served on a short term mission team to Zweibrucken, Germany through Eastern Mennonite Missions. Danielle is a graduate of Eastern Mennonite University and Mary Baldwin College where she earned English and theater degrees. She enjoys hiking with her family, playing board games, volleyball, Shakespeare, and directing. Danielle is passionate about encouraging families and fostering a nurturing environment for children to develop meaningful relationships with Jesus.

Jonelle Metzler Minister of Administration
Jonelle feels extremely blessed to have the opportunity to serve Mellinger Mennonite in her role as Administrator. After studying animal science at Penn State, Jonelle moved to Lancaster where she has lived for the past 26 years with her husband and three children. Prior to serving in her role at Mellinger, Jonelle enjoyed being a stay at home mom and overseeing the management of the family’s embryo farm. Over the years she has served in various roles at her children’s schools and at Mellinger, which has been her home church for 27 years. She cherishes time with her family, all things outdoors, and likes to dabble in creative outlets. Her desire is to express Jesus’ love in her service to others.

John & Carolyn Kreider Deacons
We are humbled by the call of God and this church family to serve as Deacon Couple, giving care and encouragement to those in need. We both are so grateful for a Christian heritage – parents who loved the Lord and were positive role models in our lives. We met while volunteering at Camp Hebron, were married at Mellinger, and over the years God has blessed us with four children, their spouses, and now four wonderful grandkids. Two important verses in our lives are 1 Peter 5:7 which reads “Cast all your care on Him, for He cares for you” and Psalm 86:11 “Teach me your way, oh Lord, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your Name”. Our desire is that we may show the love of our precious Lord to those around us, and may He be honored at Mellinger as we endeavor to know Jesus, to be like Jesus, and to make Jesus known.
